Paphos-Limassol tunnel closed for works

Date:

The Paphos-Limassol tunnel on the motorway towards Limassol has been closed to traffic due to ongoing roadworks.

According to the Department of Public Works, the works are expected to be completed on Friday, 19 June 2026.

As a result, the tunnel will remain closed daily from 8:00am until 7:00pm until Friday.

Traffic diverted to opposite carriageway

During the closure period, traffic travelling towards Limassol will be diverted onto the opposite carriageway.

The affected section will operate with two-way traffic management to allow vehicles to continue their journeys while the works are underway.

The temporary arrangements are expected to remain in place throughout the duration of the project.

Drivers urged to exercise caution

Police are urging motorists using the area to exercise extra caution while travelling through the roadworks zone.

Drivers are advised to:

  • Maintain a safe and reduced speed
  • Keep a safe distance from vehicles ahead
  • Follow all temporary road signs and traffic management measures

Authorities said compliance with the temporary traffic arrangements is essential to ensure the safety of both road users and roadworkers.
