Mostly sunny conditions across the island

A weak high-pressure system is affecting the region, according to the Cyprus Department of Meteorology.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear, although locally increased cloud cover is expected during the afternoon hours. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming locally strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort during the afternoon. The sea will be slight.

Temperatures are expected to rise to 32°C inland, around 30°C along the southern and eastern coasts, near 27°C on the western and northern coasts, and 22°C in the higher mountain areas.

Fog possible overnight

Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear. In some areas, particularly in the southeast, thin fog or mist and low cloud may develop.

Winds will gradually shift from northwest to northeast and remain light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slight.

Overnight temperatures will drop to around 16°C inland and along the northern coast, about 17°C in the remaining coastal areas, and 12°C in the higher mountains.

Stable weather through Saturday

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather is expected to remain mainly clear. However, increased cloud cover is likely to develop during the afternoon hours.

On Saturday, these clouds may produce isolated showers over mountainous areas.

The weather forecast indicates that temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages throughout the three-day period, with no significant changes expected.
