A section of a residential property collapsed in Larnaca, in the Chrysopolitissa area, after a wall and roof gave way while the house was still occupied.
The incident triggered an emergency response from the Cyprus Fire Service and the Larnaca District Local Government Organisation.
Residents escape safely
Three women were inside the house at the time of the collapse. They managed to exit safely as they were in another part of the property when the structural failure occurred.
Authorities were alerted later in the day, while the collapse itself is reported to have taken place around 11:30.
Unsafe building sealed off
Emergency crews and technical teams assessed the site and declared the building unsafe. The property was subsequently sealed off as a precaution.
The residents are expected to be temporarily accommodated elsewhere, while the property owner has been notified by authorities.
Officials noted that this is the second similar incident reported in the area within a short period, raising further concerns about building safety in older structures.
