Trade hub to launch in September
President Nikos Christodoulides announced on Thursday the establishment of a Cypriot trade centre in Mumbai aimed at boosting commercial cooperation between Cyprus and India.
Speaking at the Cyprus-India Business Forum, organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Invest Cyprus in cooperation with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the President said the centre is expected to begin operations on 1 September this year.
The forum took place in Mumbai during Christodoulides’ official visit to India.
Gateway for Indian businesses
According to the President, the trade centre has been designed to serve as a business connectivity hub, helping Indian companies explore opportunities in Cyprus and across Europe.
He said the initiative aims to encourage partnerships with Cypriot businesses while facilitating access to the European Union through what he described as a stable, transparent and fully EU-compliant business environment.
Strengthening Cyprus-India ties
The announcement forms part of broader efforts to deepen economic relations between Cyprus and India, with both countries seeking stronger cooperation in investment, trade and innovation sectors.
