Police search for father and child

Police launched an investigation following a complaint of child abduction involving a father who allegedly entered the free areas illegally from the occupied areas on Tuesday morning.

According to information, the man is a Turkish Cypriot reportedly linked to drug trafficking cases and was included on a stop list. Authorities believe he crossed illegally from the occupied areas before locating his son, who lives with his mother in Limassol district.

Mother reportedly raised safety fears

The man allegedly took the child and disappeared, prompting police searches to locate both the father and the boy.

According to the same information, the child’s mother had previously expressed serious concerns for her safety. She had reportedly sent a letter to Police Chief Themistos Arnaoutis requesting intervention from the authorities.

Investigations are ongoing.
