Trump: If agreement isn’t reached with Iran, “the bombing starts”

Trump issues fresh warning to Iran

US President Donald Trump has escalated US-Iran tensions, warning that “bombing starts” if no agreement is reached with Tehran, according to a post on his Truth Social platform.

Trump said any refusal by Iran to accept a deal would result in a renewed military campaign with “higher level and intensity than before”, while also suggesting that a diplomatic agreement remains possible.

In his statement, Trump said that if Iran accepts previously discussed terms, the situation could stabilise and allow the Strait of Hormuz to reopen for international shipping.

He added that such an outcome depends on what he described as a “big assumption” that both sides can reach a deal.

Conflicting signals from US officials

Despite the warning, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Operation “Epic Fury” has already concluded, stating: “The operation is over. We’re done with that stage of it.”

The apparent contradiction has added further uncertainty to already heightened US Iran tensions.

Strait of Hormuz remains central issue

The dispute continues to centre on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route that has been at the heart of regional instability.

Any disruption to the waterway has raised concerns over global energy markets and maritime security.

Diplomatic uncertainty continues

While the US maintains pressure on Iran through sanctions and military posturing, officials have not ruled out further negotiations.

However, both sides remain divided on key issues, and no formal agreement has been reached.
