Leaders meet in Amman for trilateral summit
The leaders of Cyprus, Greece and Jordan reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening dialogue, reducing regional tensions and building a framework for peace during the 5th Trilateral Summit held in Amman.
The meeting took place with the participation of Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Focus on regional stability and cooperation
In his remarks, President Christodoulides highlighted that Cyprus-Jordan-Greece cooperation plays a key role in promoting regional stability, describing Cyprus as a “bridge between Europe and the Middle East”.
He stressed that the three countries share a common goal of enhancing dialogue and addressing challenges such as migration, climate change, energy transition and regional security.
King Abdullah II underlined that Cyprus-Jordan-Greece relations reflect a stable and growing partnership that can contribute to both regional and international peace and prosperity.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also described the summit as a strong message of friendship, cooperation and commitment to international law and peaceful coexistence.
Strategic EU dimension
The leaders also emphasised the importance of the EU dimension in their cooperation, particularly during Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
President Christodoulides noted that the trilateral format serves as a strategic bridge between the EU and the wider region, while also supporting EU-Jordan relations.
Shared commitment to future actions
The summit concluded with a renewed commitment to practical cooperation and joint actions aimed at addressing shared regional challenges.
Officials described the 5th Trilateral Summit as a milestone in strengthening Cyprus-Jordan-Greece relations and advancing regional diplomacy.
