Talks to continue under UN auspices
A new Cyprus leaders meeting between President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman will take place on 8 May at 16:00.
The meeting will be held at the residence of Khasim Diagne, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Cyprus, according to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis.
Officials said the regular meeting format reflects a continued commitment to maintaining open and constructive communication between the two sides.
Letymbiotis stressed that these contacts aim to support efforts to gradually build the conditions needed for the resumption of meaningful negotiations.
Continuity in discussions
The two leaders will continue discussions from where they left off during their previous meeting, with the aim of advancing dialogue step by step.
The upcoming meeting comes as diplomatic efforts continue to keep channels open and explore prospects for renewed talks on the Cyprus issue.
