The Public Service Commission has approved ambassadors appointments for four permanent posts in the Foreign Service, with effect from May 15, 2026.
Among those promoted is First Lady Philippa Karsera, alongside three senior diplomatic officials.
According to the announcement, the four officials appointed are Thessalia Siampou, Philippa Karsera, Maria Michael and Charis Moritsis.
The decision forms part of a selection process launched through a public notice published in the Official Gazette on August 30, 2024.
Diplomatic role and salary scale
The ambassadors concern posts classified as first appointment and promotion positions.
The approved salary scale (A15(i)) ranges from €64,713 up to €80,433, depending on increments. General salary increases approved under legislation will also apply.
Decision to take effect in May
The Public Service Commission said the appointments will take effect within May 2026.
The decision finalises the selection process for the four senior diplomatic positions within Cyprus’ Foreign Service.
