Rockets launched from southern Lebanon
The Hezbollah-Israel conflict intensified on Thursday night after the Lebanese group announced it had launched rockets toward northern Israel, claiming the action was in response to alleged violations of a ceasefire by the Israeli military.
In a statement, Hezbollah said the attack targeted the settlement of Shtula, describing it as retaliation for Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, including the town of Yater.
Israel reports interception of rockets
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that rockets were fired from Lebanese territory but said all incoming projectiles were successfully intercepted.
Authorities added that no injuries were reported following the incident, which occurred shortly before renewed diplomatic talks in Washington between Israeli and Lebanese representatives.
Rising regional tensions
The Hezbollah-Israel conflict comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire and prevent further escalation along the Israel–Lebanon border.
The exchange of fire highlights continued instability in the region, with both sides accusing each other of violating existing agreements.
Diplomacy continues despite escalation
The incident took place ahead of a second round of talks in the United States involving envoys from Israel and Lebanon, aimed at reducing tensions and addressing security concerns along the border.
Despite the escalation, diplomatic channels remain open as international actors push for restraint and renewed dialogue.
