Strong wind warning: up to 7 Beaufort expected until this afternoon: what the Meteorology Department says

A warning for very strong and at times near-gale southwesterly to westerly winds, reaching force 6 and locally up to 7 Beaufort, is in effect from 12:00 to 18:00 on Sunday, mainly affecting the southern coasts and at times the northern areas.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the sea is expected to be rough and occasionally very rough, with authorities urging the public, especially those working at sea, to exercise increased caution.

At the same time, a low-pressure system is affecting the maritime area of Cyprus, with weather conditions expected to be mostly cloudy and with local showers or thunderstorms until Monday morning.

According to the forecast for the period from 06:00 Sunday, March 29, to 06:00 Monday, March 30, light dust will be present in the atmosphere until midday. Visibility will generally be good but may be temporarily reduced during rainfall. Sea temperature is estimated at 18°C.
