Three Puppies abandoned in Mitsero – Up for adoption

Date:

An appeal for the immediate adoption of three puppies abandoned in the Mitsero area has been issued by the Cyprus Green Party – Citizens’ Cooperation.

In a related statement, the party noted that the puppies will only be given to individuals who truly love animals and are willing to provide them with the love and care they deserve, welcoming them into their family.

Full Statement

“Only disgust can describe the criminal behaviour of an individual who abandoned three young puppies in the Mitsero area on Sunday. Luckily, they were rescued by an animal lover who was in the area.

The coordinator of the Green Party’s Animal Action Group, Ms Anthi Mouzouri, stated in a written declaration:

‘It is reasonable to question whether anything positive has changed regarding animal welfare in Cyprus in 2024. Judging by such actions, the answer is negative. To casually discard three young puppies as if they were rubbish reflects our society’s level of civilisation. We remind everyone, for the thousandth time, that abandoning animals is not only a barbaric act but also a criminal offence punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both. Therefore, we urge conscientious citizens who witness such actions to report them immediately to the police.’

In this case, the puppies were saved by a caring citizen. In other circumstances, they would have met a tragic end, like hundreds of others that are not as fortunate.

An appeal is made for the immediate adoption of the three puppies, two males and one female. They will only be given to individuals who genuinely love animals and are ready to provide them with the love and care they deserve, making them a part of their family.”
