A weak high-pressure system affects the region, while a weak low-pressure system is expected from Thursday. Occasional dust will be present in the atmosphere.
Weather today
Today, the weather will be mostly clear, though locally increased clouds may appear at times. Winds will blow mainly from the northeast to east, weak to moderate, 3–4 Beaufort, locally moderate to strong, 4–5 Beaufort.
The sea will be slightly rough in the west and rough elsewhere along the coasts. Temperatures will reach 20°C inland, around 21°C along the coasts, and 8°C in higher mountainous areas.
Tonight conditions
Tonight, high clouds will appear at intervals. Winds will be mainly north to northeast, weak to moderate, 3–4 Beaufort, locally moderate to strong, 4–5 Beaufort.
The sea will be slightly rough, locally rough on windward coasts. Temperatures will drop to around 6°C inland, 10°C along the coasts, and 2°C in higher mountains, where frost may form locally.
Weather later this week
On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy, with isolated showers possible during midday, mainly in mountainous areas. Snow or sleet is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos. Saturday will see mostly cloudy skies with occasional local rain.
Temperature trends
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly until Friday, remaining slightly above average. On Saturday, a small drop in temperatures is expected.
