Paphos: 31-year-old arrested over stolen bike and attack

Motorcycle theft in Paphos

Yesterday afternoon, a 27-year-old man reported to police that his motorcycle, parked outside his apartment building in Paphos, had been stolen.

Assault during recovery attempt

Around 6 PM, the victim spotted his motorcycle on Evagora Pallikaridi Street. When he attempted to secure it, he was reportedly attacked by two unknown individuals, who assaulted him, threw him to the ground, and fled the scene with the stolen motorcycle.

Suspect apprehended

The victim managed to stop one of the suspects nearby. Police were called and confirmed the individual was a 31-year-old man. He was taken to the Central Police Station in Paphos and arrested under a court warrant for conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery, theft, assault causing actual bodily harm, and malicious damage. He remains in custody.

Victim treated for injuries

The victim was examined by the on-duty doctor at Paphos General Hospital, who found a scalp haematoma and abrasions. Investigations are ongoing by the Paphos CID.
