Businessman signals evidence submission

Businessman Aristos Aristodemou says he stands ready to submit official evidence to the competent authorities over a case he claims involves Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos. His statement brings back into focus a matter that, according to him, has remained uninvestigated for nearly a decade.

Claims raised on television

Speaking on Mega’s programme “Enimerosi Tora“, Aristodemou avoided specific details but confirmed he holds testimonial material and documentary evidence. He said this material could support serious allegations. He also noted that he raised the same claims publicly in a television appearance in 2016, footage of which recently resurfaced on social media.

Concerns over police handling

Aristodemou placed particular emphasis on the stance of law enforcement authorities. He expressed concern that, despite his public allegations almost ten years ago, the Police never invited him to give an official statement. He said he remains ready to substantiate all his claims with evidence and questioned how the competent services handled the matter.

Interior Ministry Clarifies separate case

In parallel developments, the Law Office is expected to send a letter to the Ministry of Interior within the day to inform it that a criminal case has been filed against a mayor in relation to an alleged domestic violence case.

Speaking on “Mesimeri kai Kati“, Interior Ministry Press Officer Margarita Kyriakou clarified that this is a different case and is not connected to Phedonas Phedonos. “The case is already before the court, and we await briefing from the Law Office so it can be examined under the law,” she said.
