Explosives attack on painter George Gabriel home

Date:

Painter George Gabriel reported an explosives attack at his Kokkinotrimithia home on Thursday afternoon.

An unknown motorcyclist passed the painter’s house, threw two firecrackers, and fled the scene.

Police preliminary exams confirm factory-made paper firecrackers with low-yield pyrotechnic material. Investigations continue.

The explosives attack caused no significant damage, only minor marks on the courtyard floor.

The incident occurred around 6:00 PM. Occupants inside the home filed an immediate complaint.

Police reinforcements, including CID explosives experts, now probe the scene.

Police spokesperson Viron Vironos stated on ‘Protoselido’: “Even low-power paper firecrackers demand utmost seriousness from the CID. The home has CCTV footage, and exams continue.”

Recent backlash targeted Gabriel’s Paphos gallery exhibition and a publicized collage of his works.

Gabriel previously revealed life threats against himself and the gallery owner.
