Christmas village at the Presidential Palace opens

First Lady supports local businesses

First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides stated today at the Christmas Village at the Presidential Palace that the goal is supporting local small businesses, noting this initiative is gradually becoming an institution.

She mentioned it’s the third year the event takes place at the Presidential Palace, adding their philosophy opens the palace gardens and surrounding areas to the public for various purposeful activities, primarily backing small local enterprises.

100 participants showcase products

The First Lady noted around 100 participants join this year, emphasizing support for them, promotion of their products, and inviting the public for Christmas shopping.

She added every activity includes charitable contributions, with part of sales proceeds going to the Nicosia School for the Deaf, where the First Lady serves as Chair of the Board of Directors.

Deputy Tourism Minister welcomes tradition

Deputy Tourism Minister Kostas Koumis expressed joy that the event has evolved into a beloved institution enjoyed by young and old.

He highlighted the Presidential Palace transforms into a platform for “Made in Cyprus” creations, giving local creators opportunities to promote unique products, backed by the Deputy Ministry’s incentive schemes and tourism initiatives.

PIF director announces Christmas film

PIF Director Aliki Stylianou noted PIF is present again to welcome Christmas friends young and old with gifts, expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration with the Deputy Tourism Ministry and First Lady’s initiative.

She revealed PIF created a new Christmas film for children titled “How to get rich at Christmas,” a practical guide.

Festive activities and access details

Hosted at the outdoor amphitheater and surrounding Presidential Palace areas, visitors enjoy traditional Cypriot foods and browse numerous stalls with handmade products from across Cyprus.

A rich program offers music, dance, interactive activities, and the premiere of the PIF Christmas film.

The Christmas Village Presidential Palace runs today and tomorrow from 11:00 to 19:00, with free shuttle buses from English School parking, or access by bike or foot.
