Cyprus employment rises 1.4% in third quarter of 2025

Statistical Service releases preliminary data Employment in Cyprus increased by 1.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, as reported on Friday, 5 December 2025.

Total employed persons reached 523,510, of whom 470,755 were employees and 52,755 self-employed.

Actual hours worked rose by 1.9% to 236.757 million hours compared with Q3 2024.

Strongest growth sectors

The largest percentage increases occurred in:

  • Wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles
  • Accommodation and food service activities (hotels and restaurants)
  • Manufacturing

These same sectors also recorded the highest increases in hours worked.
