Temperature to rise significantly over the coming days

The temperature will rise significantly across Cyprus in the coming days, according to the Met Office, with high pressure keeping conditions mostly clear and warm. Temperatures will climb steadily through to Saturday before levelling off on Sunday, remaining well above seasonal averages.

Thursday outlook

Today, temperatures will reach around 27°C inland and along the coast, and around 17°C in the higher mountains.
Winds will blow mainly from the northeast to southeast, light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort and briefly strong at 4–5 Beaufort.
The sea will be generally slight, becoming locally moderate.

Clear and cool tonight

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear.
Winds will shift to a northerly to northeasterly direction at 3–4 Beaufort.
The sea will be slight along the north coast, slight to occasionally moderate in the east, and will become calm to slight elsewhere.
Temperatures will fall to around 12°C inland, 16°C on the coasts, and 11°C in the highest mountains.

Warm, settled weekend ahead

Friday, Saturday and Sunday will stay mostly clear, with intervals of increased high cloud.
The temperature will rise significantly through Saturday, before stabilising on Sunday, remaining well above seasonal norms.
