Cyprus weather forecast: clear skies with mild showers today

Date:

The Cyprus weather forecast until Saturday points to mostly clear conditions across the island, according to the Meteorological Department.

Today, skies will be mainly clear, though locally increased cloud cover is expected at intervals. Around midday and later, developing clouds may bring isolated showers, primarily in mountainous areas. Winds will blow mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, in the southwest during the afternoon.

Seas will be calm to slightly rough, becoming slightly rough at times along the southwest coast. Temperatures will rise to around 28°C inland, at southern and eastern coasts, around 26°C on the western and northern coasts, and about 22°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight will remain mostly clear, with some locally increased low clouds. Winds will turn north-westerly to north-easterly — and south-easterly along northern coasts — light, 3 Beaufort, and briefly moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 16°C inland, 18°C on the coasts, and 11°C in the higher mountains.

On Thursday and Friday, the weather will stay mainly clear, while Saturday will also be mostly fine, though with occasional high cloud cover.

Temperatures will remain stable through Saturday, continuing slightly above the average climatic values for the season.
