Series of alleged attacks on women in Limassol under investigation

Posts circulating on social media refer to alleged attacks against women in the Amathus area of Limassol, urging women to be particularly cautious when moving around the area.

According to information from the Police, since 16 October three separate complaints have been filed by women who claim to have been attacked in the wider area.

The first case concerns an indecent assault, the second appears to involve an attempted indecent assault – possibly involving physical contact or hugging – while the third case relates to a physical attack.

All three incidents have been officially reported to the Police and are under investigation by the competent departments. According to initial information, the suspects are believed to be foreign nationals, though no one has yet been identified.
