Police are still searching for two suspects involved in an attempted murder outside a luxury hotel in Limassol on Monday night.
According to a police statement issued on Tuesday morning (30 September), officers rushed to the scene after reports of a violent incident in the hotel’s car park. Preliminary investigations suggest that around ten people were involved in the altercation, during which a single gunshot was fired.
The shot struck a 42-year-old man in the abdomen. He was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Doctors said his condition is serious but he is now considered to be out of danger.
At the crime scene, police recovered a bullet casing along with other items of evidence, which have been sent for further forensic testing.
The perpetrators fled in a car, which was later found abandoned in an open area along Zygi’s coastal road.
Police have released photographs of two men wanted in connection with the case and are appealing to the public for information that may assist the investigation.
