Photorandar List to allow on-the-spot fines from cameras

Date:

The Police are preparing to launch the new Photorandar List, a system designed to allow on-the-spot issuance of fines captured by traffic cameras.

Speaking on Protoselido, Traffic Headquarters officer Tasos Asikkis explained that the system will be activated if the postal and bailiff delivery process for a fine fails. Once this happens, the Photorandar List will make it possible to issue the fine directly at roadblocks, as well as at any police station or office.

The application is at an advanced stage of development and is expected to be implemented between late October and early November 2025. Asikkis clarified that the system will not apply at airports and ports initially. However, at a later stage, it will be integrated with automatic number plate recognition systems installed at checkpoints, as well as with handheld police devices used for traffic controls.

The Photorandar List is seen as a step forward in modernising enforcement of traffic camera violations, ensuring greater efficiency in delivering fines and increasing compliance on the roads.
