Food delivery driver robbed at knifepoint in Nicosia

A food delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint in Nicosia in the early hours of Wednesday, according to a report filed with the police.

The 25-year-old victim, a third-country national and student who also works as a food delivery driver, reported the incident to Nicosia CID at around 4:00pm on Wednesday. He said the robbery took place at approximately 1:00am the same day, in the area of Aglantzia.

According to the police report, the driver had arrived at the delivery location when a group of five to six young individuals received the food and then attacked him. During the assault, one of the suspects allegedly brandished a knife in a threatening manner.

The group stole the victim’s motorcycle, helmet, mobile phone, and a small bag containing cash and personal documents. The man later managed to locate his mobile phone, helmet, and motorcycle in the same area.
