Large cannabis quantity seized at Larnaca airport

Date:

A large cannabis quantity was discovered and seized at Larnaca airport at around 11:50 last night, following the collection and evaluation of intelligence. The operation was part of an ongoing collaboration between the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) and the Customs Department.

The drugs were found during a luggage inspection of a 39-year-old woman who had arrived at Larnaca airport from a foreign country. Upon searching her suitcase, authorities discovered and confiscated 40 packages containing cannabis, with a total gross weight of approximately 22 kilograms and 546 grams.

The woman was arrested to assist with ongoing investigations. YKAN’s Larnaca division is continuing its inquiries into the case.
