A 19-year-old is in critical condition after a road accident in Larnaca on Monday night. The young man is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital following serious injuries sustained during the incident.
According to the Police Communication Branch, the accident occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, 18 August. A 19-year-old man was driving his car in an open parking area in Larnaca, with another 19-year-old as a passenger. Under circumstances still being investigated, the vehicle struck another 19-year-old pedestrian from the Larnaca district, causing him severe injuries.
The injured pedestrian was initially taken to Larnaca General Hospital but was later intubated and transferred to Nicosia General Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition. Doctors have described his state as critical.
The driver of the vehicle underwent an alcohol test, which returned a negative result.
