US President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that there is a “good chance” he will have a meeting “very soon” with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He did not specify when or where such meetings might take place.
Trump did not comment on whether such talks could lead to a peace agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. He noted, however, that Putin “has disappointed [him] before,” appearing to temper expectations.
He also mentioned “good talks” between his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Russian President Putin, which took place at the Kremlin on Wednesday.
The Russian presidency confirmed the meeting, describing the discussions as “useful and constructive.”
While few details have emerged, the possibility of a Trump Putin Zelensky meeting has drawn attention as the war in Ukraine continues to shape global politics.
