Hermes Airports has announced that July 2025 was the busiest month in the history of Cyprus airports, recording a total of 1,653,880 passengers across Larnaca and Paphos airports.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the company highlighted that this milestone reflects the island’s growing appeal as a travel destination. “We are proud to officially announce that July 2025 was the month with the highest traffic in the history of Cyprus airports,” Hermes said.
From January to July 2025, a total of 7.3 million passengers were recorded, marking an impressive 11.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
According to Hermes, several key factors contributed to this growth, including stronger demand from markets such as Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Armenia and Germany—together accounting for 70% of this year’s overall growth.
The growth has also been supported by the improved performance of 40 out of the 58 airlines currently operating in Cyprus. Notable increases came from carriers such as Wizz Air, Aegean, Cyprus Airways, TUI Group, LOT and Air Haifa, which collectively contributed to 60% of the market expansion.
In the first seven months of 2025 alone, five new airlines began operating in Cyprus, while six new routes were introduced.
“This milestone reflects not only the growing attractiveness of Cyprus as a destination, but also the dedication of our partners, airlines and airport teams who work tirelessly to ensure smooth and pleasant travel experiences for millions of travellers,” Hermes concluded.
The July 2025 Cyprus airports record is a significant indicator of the country’s recovery and upward momentum in tourism and air travel.
