Teen caught with half-kilo of cannabis in Limassol

A 19-year-old teen was caught with cannabis. He has been arrested in Limassol after police found him in possession of more than half a kilo of cannabis.

According to police, the arrest was made by members of the Limassol Drug Squad (YKAN) following a tip-off. Officers located the teenager on Monday afternoon and attempted to approach him, but he fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended by police.

A search of his person revealed five small bags containing a total of 509 grams of cannabis. Officers later searched his flat, where they discovered a precision scale with traces of cannabis and an additional 15 grams of the drug.

The teen was arrested on the spot and remains in custody as investigations continue. He faces charges relating to the illegal possession, use and intent to supply cannabis.

The case is being handled by the Limassol district branch of YKAN.
