20 special flights from Larnaca to Israel & Jordan

Date:

A total of 20 special flights from Larnaca are scheduled to take place today, Tuesday, for the repatriation of Israeli nationals, as travel disruptions continue across the region. The flights are bound for Israel and Jordan, reflecting continued efforts to move citizens safely amid the regional ceasefire.

According to Cyprus News Agency (CNA), departures began at 6:00am and include five special flights to Tel Aviv, nine to Haifa, five to Aqaba in Jordan, and one to Amman. These repatriation efforts have been authorised under special permits from Israeli authorities due to the ongoing closure of Israeli airspace.

Several other planned flights to Haifa and Tel Aviv, operated by two Israeli airlines, were cancelled earlier in the day, underlining the uncertain travel conditions as the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve.

Situation remains fluid

The special flights from Larnaca have been coordinated in response to the rapidly changing security landscape. With Israeli airspace formally closed due to recent hostilities, each flight requires separate authorisation from Israeli aviation authorities.

Meanwhile, maritime travel also continues. Several vessels carrying Israeli nationals have docked at Larnaca Marina, either repatriating citizens to Israel or helping them reach other destinations.

Authorities continue to monitor developments and adjust travel operations accordingly.
