Larnaca robbery: Group assaults two men near Finikoudes

Date:

Two overnight robberies in Larnaca are under investigation, after a group of 6–8 individuals attacked passersby and stole valuables along the Athens Avenue–Finikoudes beachfront.

According to police spokesperson Christodoulos Konsolos, the incidents occurred between 2:00 and 2:45am on Monday, 2 June, and followed the same method: the group approached the victims, assaulted them, and fled in various directions after stealing personal belongings.

In the first case, a 39-year-old foreign national and permanent resident of Larnaca was attacked and had his €1,500 watch and wallet- containing €150 in cash- stolen.

In the second incident, a foreign student also living in Larnaca was targeted. The suspects stole his mobile phone and bag, which contained personal documents.

Both victims sustained minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

“The suspects are described as young and possibly foreign nationals,” Konsolos stated. Efforts to identify and arrest them are ongoing.
