A serious road accident occurred around 11:40 PM on Wednesday on the new Nicosia–Tseri highway.
According to police, a 25-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle under unknown circumstances. The car struck a protective barrier, veered off course, and ended up in an adjacent field, approximately 25 metres below the road level.
The young man was seriously injured and was immediately transported by ambulance to the Nicosia General Hospital. He underwent surgery and is currently hospitalised in critical condition.
