End of extension for fine payments – What happens if you don’t pay

The extension granted by the Police for the payment of out-of-court fines, covering the period from January 2022 to September 2024, ends at midnight on 30 April.

Speaking on the Mesimeri kai Kati programme, Tasos Asiikis, Senior Officer of the Headquarters Traffic Department, stated that the preparation of criminal cases will gradually begin and will be filed before the Court.

“The process for identifying and paying fines will continue to exist. Once a case is filed, the fine will be removed from the platform,” the officer said.

He also clarified that it takes approximately 10 to 20 days for the offence to be entered into the system.
