Four teenagers arrested after 17-year-old dies from gas inhalation

Police in Paphos have arrested the young friends of the unfortunate 17-year-old.

According to an official statement, at around 6:40 p.m. yesterday, an ambulance was called to a school building in Paphos after a young person at the scene lost consciousness. The individual was a 17-year-old resident of the Paphos district, who was found unconscious by the ambulance crew.

He was transported to Paphos General Hospital where, despite the efforts of the medical staff, the 17-year-old passed away at around 8:30 p.m.

Police officers attended the scene and found four 17-year-olds. During the investigation, two lighter gas canisters were discovered on the roof of the building and were taken as evidence. It is being investigated whether the canisters had been used.

The four 17-year-olds were arrested under court warrants to assist with the investigation and remain in custody. The Paphos CID continues its inquiries.
