Paphos police investigating armed assault

Paphos police are investigating an incident of assault and possession of a weapon, following a violent home invasion in Geroskipou in the early hours of 23 April.

According to police, a 40-year-old permanent resident of Paphos reported that two unknown individuals broke into his home at around 1 a.m. and attacked him.

Injured by bat and knife

The victim told police that one of the assailants struck him in the head with a bat, while the second attempted to stab him with a knife. The attackers had their faces covered with scarves.

The 40-year-old sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital, where he received stitches and treatment for his wounds.

Motive unknown

The victim claimed he does not know the identity of the attackers or the reason behind the assault. No items were stolen from the home, and the suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The case is being investigated by Paphos CID.
