Pafos FC and Aris race for the Cyprus League by Stoiximan title

The race for the title in Cyprus League by Stoiximan is developing into a race for two after the completion of the Match Day 1 of the second phase of the league.

Pafos FC and Aris achieved important victories over Apollon and APOEL, respectively, and remained in the first two positions in the standings, opening the gap from AEK and Omonia, which drew in the game in GSP.

The results of Match Day 1 of second phase of Group A are: Aris-APOEL 1-0, Apollon-Pafos 1-2, Omonia-AEK 1-1.

Standings: Pafos FC 65, Aris 64, AEK 55, Omonia 53, APOEL 43, Apollon 40.

In Group B, Paralimni beat Karmiotissa with 2-0 and revived its hopes for avoiding the three last positions that lead to the second division. AEL also achieved an important victory over Omonia Aradippou while Ethnikos drew with Nea Salamina.

The results of Match Day 1 of Group B are: Anorthosis-Omonia 29M 4-2, Karmiotissa-Paralimni 0-2, Omonia Aradippou -AEL 1-2, Ethnikos Achnas – Nea Salamina 1-1.

Standings: Anorthosis 40, Ethnikos Achnas 30, AEL 27, Karmiotissa 27, Omonia Aradippou 26, Paralimni 22, Nea Salamina 18, Omonia 29M 14.
