Wanted person in human trafficking case arrested

The Limassol District Court has issued a two-day detention order against an individual who was arrested on Tuesday as a suspect in a human trafficking ring exploiting women from African countries.

According to the Police, the individual was wanted, while an arrest warrant is still pending for another person, against whom a European and international arrest warrant has been issued.

For the same case, three other men have already been referred to trial before the Limassol Criminal Court. They remain in custody at the Central Prisons until the completion of the proceedings.

The arrested individual was brought before the Limassol District Court today, which issued a two-day detention order.

The Office for Combating Trafficking in Persons continues its investigations.
