Gas heater causes house fire in Dali – One person hospitalised

Date:

The Fire Service responded to a total of 38 incidents, including 24 fires and 14 special services.

According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, at 21:52, the fire service responded with two fire engines to a fire caused by a gas heater in the room of a domestic worker, in the basement of a house in the municipality of Dali.

The fire was extinguished using water before the arrival of the Fire Service by the homeowner.

An inspection was carried out, and the gas cylinder was moved to a safe location. Due to the heat, light damage was caused to the apartment’s equipment and clothing. The fire also resulted in minor burns to the foreign domestic worker.

An ambulance was called to the scene to transport her to Nicosia General Hospital.

It appears that the fire was caused by a malfunction in the gas heater.
