Fire in Limassol car park sends woman to hospital

A fire broke out on Thursday evening in an underground car park in Limassol, causing extensive damage to a private vehicle and minor damage to a second one.

The fire ignited in paper materials, prompting the Fire Service to respond at 18:06. Firefighters from Limassol stations rushed to the scene with three fully staffed fire engines. Wearing breathing apparatus, they entered the area and managed to bring the fire under control using water hoses.

A woman who was near the incident inhaled smoke and was taken to the Accident & Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital as a precaution by an ambulance from the Ambulance Service.

The cause of the fire is under investigation in collaboration with the police.
