Football Clubs face legal action over unpaid state debts

Date:

The Tax Department is continuing to prepare indictments against all football clubs, regardless of the amount of their debts to the state, according to information obtained by the Cyprus News Agency (CNA).

In addition to targeting football clubs with significant outstanding amounts owed to the state, the Department is also preparing indictments for clubs with smaller debts, resulting in a substantial increase in the total number of indictments.

The Department’s aim is to prepare indictments for all clubs with outstanding debts, a source involved in the matter told CNA.

It is noted that once the indictments are finalised, they will be forwarded to the Attorney General, who will decide on the next steps.
