A 65-year-old man was arrested by the police shortly after midnight under a court warrant, in connection with an ongoing investigation into a stabbing and the commission of acts intended to cause actual bodily harm.
According to the evidence currently under examination, at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the 65-year-old was at his home in the Famagusta district when he allegedly stabbed a 50-year-old man who had visited him.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., the suspect himself contacted the police, reporting that the 50-year-old had visited him and threatened him with a knife.
Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found the 50-year-old injured. He was transported to Famagusta General Hospital, where he received medical treatment, including stitches to wounds on his head and left arm. He was later discharged after receiving the necessary care.
The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
