A 56-year-old man is in critical condition at a private hospital in Limassol after a crash involving an electric scooter and a motorcycle.
According to a police statement, the collision happened shortly after 6pm on Sunday in the coastal area of Limassol.
The 56-year-old was riding his electric scooter along Chr. Hatzipavlou Street when, under circumstances being investigated by police, he collided with a motorcycle ridden by a 35-year-old man.
Motorcycle ended up under parked bus
Following the crash, the motorcycle was dragged along the road before coming to a stop underneath a bus parked at a bus stop.
Both men were taken by ambulance to private hospitals in Limassol.
Doctors said the 56-year-old suffered a skull fracture, a ruptured spleen and a pneumothorax. He remains in critical condition.
The 35-year-old motorcycle rider suffered abrasions and bruising across his body.
Alcohol and drug tests negative
The 35-year-old underwent alcohol and drug tests, both of which returned negative results.
Limassol Traffic Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
