35-year-old man injured in Avakas Gorge – Rescued by Fire Service

A rescue operation was conducted yesterday by the Fire Service.

According to Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis, at 3:10 pm, the Paphos Fire Station responded to a life-saving call involving a 35-year-old Polish man who had injured his leg on the Avakas Gorge trail. The rescue was conducted in cooperation with the Ambulance Service.

As described, fire service personnel and ambulance staff approached the scene on foot. The injured man was stabilised, received first aid from the Ambulance Service, placed on a specialised stretcher, and was safely transported approximately 500 metres to the ambulance waiting area, where he was subsequently transferred to the Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital.
