The migration operations in Cyprus have yielded significant results, according to figures released by the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, highlighting intensified efforts to tackle irregular migration and crime.
Authorities said the operations are part of a coordinated government strategy involving the police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection.
Key results from recent migration operations in Cyprus
Under the ongoing migration operations, from March 1 to date, authorities recorded:
- 195 deportations of third-country nationals, including individuals held in police detention, prisons and the “Limnes” pre-removal centre
- 729 voluntary departures
- 204 arrests linked to illegal stay and unlawful employment
During the same period, 256 irregular arrivals were also recorded.
Year-to-date figures show broader impact
From January 1 until today, the migration operations have resulted in:
- 535 deportations
- 2,052 voluntary departures
- 578 arrests
- 529 irregular arrivals
Officials say these figures demonstrate the effectiveness of coordinated enforcement and monitoring measures across the country.
The Ministry stated that the migration operations in Cyprus are carried out through continuous cooperation between relevant authorities, combining operational action with strategic planning.
The aim is to strengthen control mechanisms, address illegal residence and employment, and ensure better overall management of migration flows.
Authorities stressed that the migration operations in Cyprus will continue at the same pace, with a focus on maintaining public order and enhancing citizens’ sense of security.
The government maintains that sustained enforcement and cooperation are key to managing migration challenges effectively.
