Υellow warning in place as Bora storm is expected to hit Cyprus

Τhe Cyprus Meteorology Department issued a yellow warning for isolated severe thunderstorms which is in effect until 18:00 local time Tuesday, as storm Bora that affected Greece the previous days is advancing from the Carpathian sea.

According to the warning, isolated severe thunderstorms are expected to affect Cyprus.

It is added that the precipitation rate will range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour, while in storm areas hail is likely and also strong winds gusts are possible.

The temperature will rise to around 17 degrees inland and on the coast and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains. The phenomena will continue through the night and the temperature will drop to around 11 degrees inland, around 13 on the coast and around 5 degrees in the higher mountains.
