Zelensky: We are working to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities

Date:

Approximately 100 drones and over 90 missiles of various types were launched overnight from Russian forces, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in a post on Platform X.

Several regions reported Kalibr missile strikes equipped with cluster munitions, deliberately targeting non-military infrastructure, he added. The use of such weapons significantly complicates the work of rescuers and engineers in mitigating damage, marking yet another horrific escalation in Russia’s terror tactics.

The Ukrainian President noted that all necessary forces have been deployed in the affected areas.

Every such attack underscores the urgent need for advanced air defense systems in Ukraine—systems that save lives rather than sitting idle in warehouses, Zelensky emphasised.

He further pointed out that this is particularly critical during the winter months, when protecting their energy infrastructure from deliberate Russian strikes is of vital importance.

Volodymyr Zelensky concluded that they continue to work with our partners to strengthen Ukraine’s defensive capabilities, ensure timely deliveries, and guarantee the full implementation of agreements, particularly regarding air defense systems, which are now needed more than ever.
