A yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued by the Department of Meteorology, with isolated strong storms expected to affect parts of the island during the afternoon.
According to the warning, the storms are expected particularly over the mountains, inland areas and parts of the north-west.
Hail is possible during thunderstorms, while winds may become variable and strengthen.
Local rainfall intensity is expected to exceed 35mm per hour.
Warning in force for five hours
The yellow thunderstorm warning will be in force from 13:00 until 18:00.
