Burning questions are expected to be answered through the investigation led by the criminal investigator appointed by the Attorney General to oversee the Police’s inquiry into the death of the 24-year-old Pakistani man.
The Police announced yesterday, shortly after the appointment of the criminal investigator, that they would not be making further statements. Additionally, following the Cabinet meeting yesterday, it was announced that forensic pathologist Nikolaos Charalambous has been suspended, with an official being appointed to investigate the circumstances under which the autopsy and post-mortem examination were conducted.
The relentless questions
One striking fact is that the young Pakistani man was found half-naked, with the wound from the gunshot cleaned. The forensic pathologist initially concluded that the cause of death was a small stone found in the wound. It is also noteworthy that the autopsy was conducted four days after his death.
