Unsettled conditions continue across Cyprus
The weather forecast indicates ongoing instability, with weak low pressure and an unstable air mass affecting the region. Conditions will remain changeable over the coming days, with showers and isolated thunderstorms expected, particularly in inland and mountainous areas.
Rain and storms expected mainly in the afternoon
Today will begin mostly clear, although increased cloud cover may bring isolated light showers in western areas. By the afternoon, clouds will build up, leading to local showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly inland, in the mountains, and possibly in southeastern areas. Hail may also occur during storms.
Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest at light to moderate levels, 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming temporarily strong up to 5 Beaufort along southern coasts in the afternoon. The sea will be slight to a little rough.
Temperatures will reach around 22°C inland, 20°C along the coast, and 10°C in higher mountainous areas.
Cool night with risk of frost inland and mountains
Tonight, conditions will be mostly clear, with some increased cloud cover at times. Winds will shift to northwest to northeast, remaining light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will drop to 8°C inland, around 11°C on the coast, and as low as 3°C in higher mountainous areas, where frost may form locally.
Similar pattern through midweek
On Tuesday, the Cyprus weather forecast remains similar, with mostly clear skies early in the day followed by developing cloud in the afternoon, bringing local showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly inland and in mountainous regions.
Wednesday will follow a comparable pattern, with isolated showers or thunderstorms expected, especially in the mountains.
By Thursday, increased cloud cover during the afternoon is again expected to bring isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly inland and in higher areas.
Temperature to rise slightly midweek
Temperatures on Tuesday will remain close to seasonal averages. A slight increase is expected on Wednesday, while Thursday will see no significant change.
