Weekend weather for Cyprus: Winds and rain expected

Mostly clear conditions today

Weekend weather in Cyprus begins on a mostly clear note, according to the Meteorological Service. Today’s conditions will be generally fair, with winds blowing mainly from the southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. During the afternoon, winds in windward areas are expected to strengthen temporarily, reaching up to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 19°C inland, approximately 21°C along the coast, and about 9°C in the higher mountainous areas.

Clear night with falling temperatures

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Winds will continue from the west to northwest, light and occasionally locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Sea conditions will remain calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures are expected to drop to around 9°C inland, about 12°C on the coast, and close to 4°C in the higher mountain regions.

Clouds and possible rain over the weekend

On Friday and throughout the weekend, the weather will remain generally clear, though periods of increased cloud cover are expected. Isolated rain showers are likely late on Saturday night and during Sunday.

Temperatures will stay at similar levels, remaining above the average seasonal values for this time of year.
